We provide interim care for orphaned and abandoned children in Tanzania.
We also work closely with their families, empowering them to care for their children in their home.
Our story
Forever Angels has 10 years of vast experience of working closely with local families and learning from them the problems they face every day.
It was started by Amy Hathaway who, while living in Tanzania, saw the need to care for orphaned and abandoned children in the Baby Home. Years later came Maisha Matters, as a way to prevent abandonment from happening in the first place.
Nutrition
We start with the most immediate need, by providing life saving formula milk to the severely malnourished baby who has not received the nutrition they need.
Crisis Support
We provide families with emergency items which immediately increases their quality of life. These are mosquito nets, mattresses, blankets, clothes and cooking equipment.
Training
We provide weekly education and training in hygiene, child development, HIV/AIDS and malaria prevention, primary health care.
Empowerment
We work with families in helping them setup a business in their community, such as selling vegetables at the local market. This allows them to earn an income for themselves.
Independence
Working closely with families makes it possible for them to look after their own children into the future. We give families a hand up so they can be free from poverty.
The Baby Home
Forever Angels Baby Home cares for Tanzania's most vulnerable - orphaned and abandoned children, with a focus on reuniting them with their relatives.
